Date:10/11/2009

detection through the Canary Foundation. His new role at the national level will greatly facilitate our efforts as cancer researchers and physicians to improve cancer outcomes through early detection of disease," said Dr. Beverly Mitchell, Director of Cancer Center at Stanford and Professor of Medicine-Oncology.

"I am extremely excited and enthusiastic that Don will join the NCI Board of Scientific Advisors," said Dr. Sanjiv Sam Gambhir. "Having Don's passion, enthusiasm and knowledge on the board will be very valuable as we build and implement a strategic vision at the national level to solve the cancer problem."

"Don Listwin brings to the Board of Scientific Advisors a deep knowledge of business, coupled with a passion driven by the cancer battles of loved ones," said NCI Director John E. Niederhuber, M.D. "In addition, because of his leadership of the Canary Foundation, Don brings to the table knowledge about the funding and management of cancer science. His combination of skills and experience will be invaluable."
