Can New Management With An Old Name Help Bed Shoppers Forget the Past?
Date:6/15/2010

One individual is banking his life savings that he can turn Beds.org into the premier bed shopping comparison and information resource, despite the floundering by past management.

Wilmington, DE (PRWEB) June 15, 2010 -- Scott Braddam, Editor in Chief of Beds.org, has taken ownership of the Beds.org Corporation and with it, all the headaches that come with trying to reinvent the proverbial wheel. The previous management had a great idea with giving consumers an objective way to evaluate mattresses, but the idea never went much further than the initial launch, making beds.org a lackluster and stagnant site. “I knew it would be a difficult task to undertake the transformation of Beds.org into something on a much grander scale than originally conceived by the former ownership, but I thought that the name itself made it a worthwhile investment.” After 9 months of intense preparation, his team of writers, researchers, and web designers re-launched Beds.org to provide the internet’s first website designed to provide its readers something hard to find in the world of bedding and mattress sales… useful and unbiased information. Beds.org has no sales channels, no retail locations, and no interest in any manufacturer or distributor of beds and related bedding products. This allows the new Beds.org to remain focused on providing unbiased, uniform information to its readers. With this approach, Beds.org can evaluate beds, mattresses, bedroom furniture, bedding, pet beds, and even hotel beds with a uniform approach and obtain hard facts about each model of bed we review. They use many tools to help reach these conclusions, and publish those results accordingly.

But would mattress and bed shoppers come back to the site to see all the new changes?

This was obviously the greatest concern that Mr. Braddam had when creating a new image for an old site. However, he was banking on the fact that current shoppers for beds would either not remember their past experience with the site or would give it a chance again to see if anything ever developed from the original concept. Of course, he knew that the site name would entice new shoppers of anything bedroom related. To help entice new readers and return visitors, Mr. Braddam now heavily relies on the skills of his staff of writers and investigators to help him brainstorm new ideas and enhance the bed shopping experience.

So Far, So Good

“From the positive emails and member sign-ups we have received, things are looking good so far,” states Mr. Braddam. “However, the site is still growing and the formal re-launch is just getting started. We have already seen a 20% growth in May from our first month, and we anticipate much higher growth as we begin our marketing campaigns”.

Beds.org Past and Future

Originally, Beds.org was a resource for mattress comfort and support only. With additions like the new bed comparison tables, full-scale mattress reviews, shopping tips, ask the expert section, and our ongoing bed and sleep blog, the old site has faded to a distant memory, making Beds.org seem like a new baby for Scott Braddam…a fitting metaphor for someone who broke the bank to make this project come to fruition.
