(PRWEB) May 3, 2010 -- Miss Beauty of the World is on a mission to achieve greatness. See what all the buzz is about at Maryjay.org as The Mary-Jay Health and Education Alliance is launched through a series of beauty pageants, a magazine and a website.

When parents and their children talk about why they are competing for 'Miss Beauty of the World', the reasons are often not just about a pretty face or money, but a higher mission. That is the opportunity to contribute to the world community in a positive way, and the wish to share the better lives they have with the less privileged.

They understand that health disparities affecting underprivileged youth are shaped by related factors within their social environment. Attacking the underlying causes of educational and health disparities—poverty, noxious physical environments, inaccessibility of health care and social services, segregation and racism—is a moral necessity. There are no simple solutions to these complex and recalcitrant problems, and schools cannot be solely responsible for addressing them.

Collectively, The Alliance believes an early focus on health awareness can help prevent later problems. This is a global problem that affects our economy and future generations. Lack of quality healthcare and education impacts millions of children around the world, especially in developing countries. Parents lack prenatal care and children lack basic care, proper diagnosis, and nutrition. National Beauty Benefit Pageant contestants are adopting these issues as their personal missions. They seek to begin their world-community service within this worthy organization and
