California Veterinarian Wins America's Best Vet Honor; Four Regional Winners Also Named

Of the award, Boltz said, "This is an incredible honor and award because it is client-driven. I take it to mean that I am doing something right because my client nominated me."

Boltz, who works at Adobe Animal Hospital in Los Altos, Calif., was also named the West regional winner. Four additional regional winners were named:

  • Lee V. Morgan, DVM, of Georgetown Veterinary Hospital in Washington, D.C., for the Northeast
  • T.L. Walker, DVM, of Highland Animal Hospital in Augusta, Ga., for the Southeast
  • Lisa Willis, DVM, of Great Oaks Animal Hospital in Round Rock, Texas, for the Southwest
  • David Bainbridge, DVM, of Morris Veterinary Hospital in Morris, Ill., for the Midwest

"Veterinarians are so important in strengthening the human-animal bond," said Patricia N. Olson, DVM, PhD, president/CEO of Morris Animal Foundation. "These professionals truly deserve recognition."

Lotti agrees, writing in her essay: "Dr. Boltz understands what animals mean to their humans. She is brilliant, kind and has the highest standards for herself and the veterinary profession."

All of the winners will be honored in front of their peers at the Western Veterinary Conference in Las Vegas on Feb. 17, 2009.
