California Casualty had the distinct honor to participate in the gala recognizing California’s Teachers of the Year in February. The five finalists were described as “guideposts in charting a new course of excellence.”
Megan Gross, special education instructor at Del Norte High School in San Diego, was named California’s 2017 National Teacher of the Year candidate, and is one of four finalists for 2017 National Teacher of the Year designation.
California Casualty CEO Beau Brown remarked that, “The event is about passion, creativity and excellence. It honors the winners, and it honors so many who don’t get recognized for their commitment and dedication.”
AVP Lisa Almeida, who introduced California Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson, was humbled by the sheer strength and tremendous dedication the award winning teachers showed. “What an amazing evening of celebrating America and American Education,” she said.
