California Association of Health Plans & California Medical Association Foundation Team Up to Combat Obesity

the California Health and Human Services Agency, said that the toolkits are an important resource that will help address obesity in California.

"Governor Schwarzenegger challenged leaders outside government to help make California the nation's model for health, nutrition and fitness," Belshe said. "I'm pleased the California Medical Association Foundation and the California Association of Health Plans have stepped up to meet this challenge, providing resources to help people understand the serious health implications of obesity and encourage them as they work to lead healthier lives."

This unique collaboration of health plans and doctors brought together an expert panel of 53 practicing physicians, health plan medical directors and other healthcare professionals to develop these guides to assist doctors and their patients in the fight against obesity.
