Date:2/18/2009

NEWTOWN, Pa., Feb. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Grounded in science and inspired by passion, CONNEXION Healthcare (CXHC) is a group of independent but complementary medical communications companies dedicated to developing high-quality, scientific programs that educate, motivate, and inspire healthcare professionals across all therapeutic areas to improve patient care. CXHC is committed to the knowledge that innovative solutions, quality execution, business integrity, and results are the keys to forging strong and enduring business relationships. This philosophy guides the company's 3 main operating units: Clinical CONNEXION (CCX), a full-service healthcare communications company; Publication CONNEXION (PCX), a strategic publication planning company; and Excellence in Medical Education (XME), a continuing medical education company.

In recent weeks, several additions have been made to the growing CXHC team. Alison Jordan-Foster, MBA, MA, has been appointed as Director of New Business Development. Ms. Jordan-Foster comes to CXHC with more than 15 years of pharmaceutical sales/marketing experience on both the agency and the industry sides of the business. Most recently, Alison served as a pharmaceutical consultant for New Dawn Medical Moderators in Davie, Florida, and Inventive Health in Somerset, New Jersey. Alison will be responsible for new business development, lead generation and qualification, presentations, and assessment of potential markets and opportunities. She will work with both CCX and PCX to provide new sales leads.

Elizabeth M. Colston, M.D., Ph.D., has recently been hired as Medical Director for CXHC. Dr. Colston has more than 5 years of experience as a medical writer and founded her own biomedical communications company, EMC Biomedical Communications, LLC, which provided writing support for grants, primary research manuscripts, slide decks, abstracts, and posters. She also teaches scientific writing courses for students, residents, and faculty at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Colston previously served as a physician scientist at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where she worked as an internal medicine and infectious diseases physician, as well as conducted basic science research on the hepatitis C virus. In her role as Medical Director, she will be involved with publication planning and other client projects.

Also joining CXHC is Stephanie S. Fitchette, who assumes the role of Editorial Director. Stephanie comes to CXHC with more than 15 years of editorial experience and is a long-time member of the American Medical Writers Association. Previous to joining CXHC, Ms. Fitchette served as a copy chief at SLACK Inc., where she maintained oversight of all editorial functions in the production of custom peer-reviewed and sponsored medical journals and supplements, monographs, continuing medical education products, and advertorials. As Editorial Director, Ms. Fitchette will oversee all aspects of editorial and medical writing responsibilities and will supervise staff in both areas.

These new hires will further support the overall growth of CXHC, helping to maintain its continued commitment to quality, service, education, and creativity in program execution.
