LONDON, March 3 /PRNewswire/ -- CMPMedica, the global healthcare information provider which is a division of United Business Media Limited, has signed an agreement with MAIDIS, the international healthcare software vendor, to provide an integrated medicine management system for two hospitals in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

CMPMedica's Integrated Data Solutions are already used in approximately 700 hospitals in France, 120 in Germany and Eastern Europe, and over 80 across the Asia Pacific region. These solutions, combined with local data in Arabic, will power MAIDIS' e-prescribing software and Electronic Medical Record in the UAE. The integration of CMPMedica's data will help healthcare professionals in the UAE to embrace their expanding roles and meet the changing needs of their hospitals. As a result of this agreement, healthcare professionals using MAIDIS software will have access to an accurate, comprehensive and up-to-date drug reference base. In addition MAIDIS users will have access to a world class set of advanced decision support tools that provide alerts and information regarding interactions, allergy, contra-indications, over-dosage and many other aspects of medicines use.

CMPMedica and MAIDIS have been partners in France since 2004 and are expanding their relationship in the Middle East as demand for e-prescribing solutions grows.

Henry Elkington, CEO of CMPMedica said: "This new partnership demonstrates that we can address the needs of all solution providers in their international development by providing them with a common international platform combined with local data to deliver trusted decision tools."

Wagdy Zahran, MAIDIS international CEO said: "This partnership with CMPMedica allows MAIDIS to get the most advanced solutions to improve prescription safety and reduce medical errors. This integrated approach of medicine management will also help to monitor costs and resources. "
