CIBA VISION Partners with TLC's Carmindy to Educate Consumers About Healthy Eye Habits

Celebrity makeup artist to judge the AIR OPTIX® AQUA “Surprise Your Eyes” contest. Two grand-prize winners will be awarded $5,000 for best eye care tips.

Atlanta, GA (Vocus) February 16, 2010 -- Just as people nationwide are looking for new ways to maintain their physical health in the New Year, the AIR OPTIX AQUA brand team is partnering with Carmindy, makeup artist on TLC’s hit show “What Not to Wear” and three top eye care practitioners to remind consumers of the importance of eye health. Beginning February 16, 2010, CIBA VISION, maker of the AIR OPTIX AQUA contact lenses, is conducting a search for America’s best tips and tricks to “Surprise Your Eyes” by keeping eyes healthy and making them beautiful.

“Eyes are a major focal point of a person’s total image,” said Carmindy, who has made over women in the pages of fashion magazines and ‘What Not to Wear’ participants for years. “Applying makeup correctly is only one step in a person’s total eye care routine, so I spend a lot of time coaching clients on their complete wellness, including proper hygiene and skin care. I am excited to see how ‘Surprise Your Eyes’ contest entrants show off their personal style with tips for keeping their eyes looking their best.”

“We commissioned a recent Harris Interactive survey and found that nearly half of women over 18 are not getting annual eye exams” said Peter Bergenske, OD, Director, Professional Support, CIBA VISION. “This contest is designed to bring attention to ways women can proactively enhance and also protect their eyes. We encourage them to share their best advice with us and each other.”
