CHF International: Haiti Needs Your Help

SILVER SPRING, Md., Sept. 12 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- An unprecedented series of hurricanes and tropical storms have caused catastrophic damage in Haiti over the last three weeks, leading to over 600 deaths. As many as 350,000 people are suffering from severe damage caused to housing, potable water, sanitation, social services and infrastructure. Thousands of families are homeless. Without immediate and sustained humanitarian assistance an even worse catastrophe will emerge, with civil disorder as an ever-present threat.

CHF International, the humanitarian assistance and development organization, is mobilizing its in-country emergency response team in Haiti to assess the situation and partner with local governments, NGOs and UN Agencies to help the people who need it most get a foothold on the road to recovery. Specializing in providing shelter, water, sanitation and income generation, CHF International will address the trauma and damage of the hurricanes through practical, forward-looking assistance designed not only to provide immediate relief, but also to address long-term development needs.

With an existing nationwide presence in Haiti and experience working there in various roles for over 10 years, CHF International is well-positioned to respond to the crisis.
