CEP America Partners With MacNeal Hospital to Provide Emergency Department Management, Staffing
Date:12/8/2008

EMERYVILLE, Calif., Dec. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- CEP America, one of the nation's largest providers of emergency department (ED) management and staffing solutions, has signed an agreement with MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, Ill., to run its ED starting Jan. 1, 2009.

Founded in 1975 by ED physicians driven to improve the quality and speed of treatment in the critical care setting, CEP America focuses solely on developing ED solutions for hospitals around the country. Utilizing CEP America's proprietary Rapid Medical Evaluation(R) program, the average time-to-provider wait at partner hospitals is 20 minutes below the national norm.

"No one really likes going to the emergency department, mainly because people believe that they will have to wait hours to be seen," said Dr. Wesley A. Curry, FACEP, chief executive officer of CEP America. "Time and again, we have been able to help hospitals improve efficiencies based on our in-depth knowledge of how emergency departments run. This directly translates to improved patient satisfaction and far fewer people leaving the hospital without being seen, a key indicator of a hospital's emergency department."

All CEP America executives are practicing ED physicians, which gives them an insight into the challenges hospitals face every day. In addition, physicians who work at CEP America hospitals are made partners in the democratic medical group.

"MacNeal Hospital has chosen to partner with CEP America because they are national leaders in providing high quality emergency department services," said Brian Lemon, chief executive officer of MacNeal Hospital. "We are confident that CEP America will partner with our outstanding physicians and ED team to continue delivering exceptional care and enhancing the patient experience."

MacNeal Hospital is a full service acute care community teaching hospital that is owned and operated by Vanguard Health System
