C4CC Education Fund Launches Discussion Forum for Consumers With Health Insurance Questions
Date:2/11/2009

INDIANAPOLIS, Feb. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Consumers need answers to questions that loom large when jobs are in jeopardy and medical insurance coverage is at risk.

A new discussion forum launching this week at www.simplecoverage.org gives people a chance to ask tough questions and get straight answers about health insurance, whether they're shopping for new coverage or weighing options after a job loss.

"People who lose their jobs don't have to join the ranks of the uninsured," said Bob Johnson, president of C4CC Education Fund, a consumer advocacy group specializing in health insurance education. "There are smart, affordable alternatives in the individual medical insurance market, and simplecoverage.org wants to help people find what they need, perhaps at their time of greatest need."

The discussion forum at simplecoverage.org allows people to connect with both health coverage experts and other consumers who are researching medical insurance options. The simplecoverage.org Web site offers advice and information that people can use to evaluate their short- and long-term needs and make smart choices about their insurance.

"The forum is a great starting point for people who want to discuss their options for health coverage after a job loss or between jobs," Johnson said.

Jenny Allen, a single mother of two from Indiana, used simplecoverage.org to start her search for individual medical insurance. "When my employer dropped health insurance at the end of 2008, www.simplecoverage.org gave me the information and support I needed to find my own individual policy. It was much easier and more affordable than I imagined."
