Burgess(TM) to Sponsor and Present at the 2009 AHIP 'Medicare & Medicaid' Conference
Date:8/18/2009

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 18 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Burgess(TM), the country's premier Medicare-based software, consulting and education solutions company, today announced its chairman sponsorship of the annual America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) Medicare and Medicaid Conference at the Capital Hilton on September 13-17 in Washington, D.C. The conference will focus on the leading concerns for senior health plan executives, policymakers, and federal and state representatives on Medicare and Medicaid issues.

As an element of its support for the event, Burgess will be presenting at a breakfast symposium with a focus on the complexities and challenges of Medicare's Home Health reimbursement -- one of the most multifaceted and difficult prospective payment systems. Mary Ann Clark, Burgess' VP of Health Economics and Reimbursement, will be discussing the intricacies of this payment system to help attendees understand the impact of episodes of care, patient clinical severity, functional status, and service utilization on reimbursement practices.

"The Medicare & Medicaid conference provides a vital forum for sharing best practices on the current challenges facing our industry," said Burgess' Founder and President, Greg Burgess. "We are grateful to have the opportunity to sponsor and present at this conference knowing Medicare is an influential force in modern healthcare delivery and reimbursement."

For more information, or to register for the conference, please visit AHIP's Web site at: http://www.ahip.org
