Bravo Health and West Penn Allegheny Health System Partner to Offer Seniors Improved Access and Choice in Healthcare

PITTSBURGH, Dec. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Bravo Health and West Penn Allegheny Health System (WPAHS) announced today that they will be jointly launching a number of new initiatives and senior-directed programs to help ensure that local Medicare beneficiaries have improved access and choice in their health care.

Bravo Health is a 100,000-member Medicare Advantage Plan serving Western Pennsylvania, among other markets. WPAHS includes some of the regions best-known medical facilities including two tertiary and four community hospitals and over 500 primary care and specialty physicians.

"Through this expanded partnership, Medicare beneficiaries who join Bravo will continue to have access to West Penn Allegheny's outstanding facilities as well as affordable, comprehensive health-care coverage."

Bravo offers benefits beyond basic Medicare, including full coverage for all preventive health services, such as physical exams, mammography and prostate screenings. In addition, dental, vision and hearing aid coverage is available. Best of all, Bravo members who live in Western Pennsylvania have access to quality WPAHS hospitals and physician practices, with low out-of- pocket expenses.

In addition, Bravo offers Part D prescription drug coverage covering medications that are purchased from a retail or mail-order pharmacy or through an institutional pharmacy for residents of a skilled nursing facility. Bravo also offers standalone prescription drug plans in Pennsylvania.

West Penn Allegheny Health System includes Allegheny General Hospital and The Western Pennsylvania Hospital, both in Pittsburgh; Alle-Kiski Medical Center in Natrona Heights; Canonsburg General Hospital in Canonsburg; The Western Pennsylvania Hospital - Forbes Regional Campus in Monroeville; and AGH-Suburban Campus in Bellevue. Offering a comprehensive range of medical and surgical services, the hospitals serve Pittsburgh and the surrounding five- state area.

In addition to Pennsylvania, Bravo Health offers Medicare Advantage Plans in Delaware, Maryland, Texas and the District of Columbia. In addition to these states, Bravo prescription drug plans are available in California, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, New York, New Jersey and West Virginia.
