Brandith Irwin, MD, Answers New Blog Question on Her Website SkinTour.com About Preventing Eye Wrinkles at Ages 30 to 40
Date:6/24/2013

(PRWEB) June 24, 2013

Every week, Brandith Irwin, MD, answers questions from readers of her blog, http://www.SkinTour.com. A recent blog provides information on the best ways to prevent wrinkles around eyes at ages 30 to 40.

"Wrinkles around the eyes are complicated because some are caused by the muscle movement, some are caused by the usual suspects like allergies, sun damage and puffiness from various things, and some are caused by gradual loss of volume (fat and skin) as we age," explains Dr. Irwin. Wrinkles around the eyes can start to form in our 30s.

Muscle movement is just one factor contributing to eye wrinkles starting at age 30. A small amount of Botox or Dysport around the eyes may be helpful but people at the age of 30 should mainly take advantage of products that aid in protecting your skin against dryness and sun damage. According to Dr. Irwin, Dermalogica eye cream with sunscreen, is a great option for anyone looking for an eye cream with SPF. A specific eyelid sunscreen in the morning coupled with sunglasses will help prevent wrinkles or lines around the eyes. Also a good eyelid moisturizer at night like SkinCeuticals Eye Balm is preventive because eyelid skin has almost no oil glands and thus very little natural moisture.

Additionally, Dr. Irwin shares that people at age 30 should start to consider "doing one gentle eyelid treatment per year that builds collagen." Eyel
