WASHINGTON, Feb. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Board Certified Renal Specialist, Nina Kolbe, a highly regarded opinion leader in the field of renal nutrition, has published a second edition of Kidney Health Gourmet with 80 new recipes added to the original favorites, as well as a dining out and convenience food guide. A large selection of ethnic recipes has been added, Latin foods, Thai, Chinese and Indian recipes.  Italian meals including several pizza recipes. Improve the health of your kidneys without sacrificing the enjoyment of some of your favorite foods.

An estimated 26 million people have chronic kidney disease mostly due to Diabetes and Hypertension.  With early diagnosis, diet and lifestyle changes many people do not have to progress to stage 5 or dialysis. Kidney Health Gourmet is a guide and cookbook addressing the various restrictions for the renal patient along with gourmet recipes.  Each recipe provides protein, potassium, phosphorus and sodium content and has been modified to meet the needs of the chronic kidney disease patient who is not on dialysis.
