Blue Shield of California and ACM Sign New 3-Year Agreement

ACM Technology To Make Medical Pharmacy Claims Processing More Efficient

MINNEAPOLIS, July 15 /PRNewswire/ -- ACM announced today the signing of a new three-year contract with Blue Shield of California that will make it easier for providers to submit claims for complex services, such as home infusion treatment, to the not-for-profit health plan. ACM's proprietary e-Precision claims(SM) technology will streamline the claims process and increase the accuracy of claims payments.

"Working with ACM will allow us to better serve our healthcare providers with easy-to-understand and straightforward billing practices," said Alan Sokolow, Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at Blue Shield of California. "We look forward to working with ACM to achieve that goal."

ACM will provide Blue Shield and its network of infusion and specialty pharmacy providers with a hosted web-based portal that is user-friendly, secure, and HIPAA-compliant to submit claims electronically, receive online training and support, and gain real-time access to information on the status of claims. ACM also will provide user-configuration and maintenance, connectivity and electronic data interchange capabilities, training and help desk support, and automated edits.

In addition to improving the claims management process, implementation of ACM's electronic claims application will drive cost savings for Blue Shield of California. ACM's technology and services, which include provider contract administration, have been shown to improve auto-adjudication rates, increase the percentage of claims submitted electronically and, ultimately, generate additional administrative savings for clients.
