SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 24 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Blue Shield of California today announced the appointment of Vincent Coppola as vice president of strategy and business development. In this position Coppola will be responsible for new business investment initiatives and strategic planning support.

Prior to joining Blue Shield, Coppola served as senior vice president of corporate business development for Magellan Health Services with a focus on mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures. He previously held executive positions in Corporate Development for CIGNA, UnitedHealth Group and J.P. Morgan.
