Health Insurer Brings More Jobs to Lodi

LODI, Calif., Dec. 4 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Moving forward with its long-term commitment to the Lodi community, Blue Shield of California celebrates the completion of its new twenty-acre Lodi customer service center today with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m. and an open house for employees and their families from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. The new facility houses approximately 900 Blue Shield employees working in customer service, claims and membership processing, underwriting and other administrative functions, with capacity for a total of 1,050 employees. The new building consolidates employees from four Blue Shield buildings in Lodi. Additionally, there is the potential for a second phase of construction that could expand the campus to house an additional 400 - 500 employees.

"We are very proud to have a new campus that not only brings all our Lodi employees under one roof, but has room to grow, said Bob Novelli, executive vice president of customer service and corporate marketing at Blue Shield of California. "As Lodi's largest private employer with workers from throughout San Joaquin and Sacramento counties, we are committed to contributing to the economic vitality of this valley. We researched the entire state of California for the location of our customer service center, and found a wonderful location here in Lodi to provide careers and to better serve our customers."

The new Lodi building is environmentally-friendly, energy efficient, technologically advanced, and smoke-free workplace. In addition to amenities such as a full-service cafeteria and onsite gym, Blue Shield offers many perks to its employees, including a tobacco cessation program, running clubs, onsite Weight Watchers meetings, massage therapy, and a bike-to-work program.
