Blue Cross of California Gives $30,000 in Holiday Donations to Food Banks Throughout the State

Blue Cross presents $5,000 each to six community organizations in

underserved areas

WOODLAND HILLS, Calif., Dec. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Blue Cross of California today announced it will provide a total of $30,000 in end of year donations to various food banks throughout California. An unrestricted check for $5,000 each will be given to six agencies in northern and southern California to assist vulnerable populations.

Blue Cross employees will visit each of the following organizations to personally present the donations in the month of December:

-- Downtown Women's Center in Los Angeles

-- The Foodbank of Southern California in Long Beach

-- Hidden Harvest in Coachella

-- FOOD Share, Inc. in Oxnard

-- Glide Foundation in San Francisco

-- Fred Jordan Missions in Los Angeles
