Blood Drive Held in Honor of Gloucester City Resident - Evan Goldglantz

The Red Cross asks you to help save lives by donating blood regularly

VOORHEES, N.J., Jan. 2 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- A blood drive is being held on Tuesday, January 6th from 2 pm to 8 pm in honor of Evan Goldglantz of Gloucester City, New Jersey. To make an immediate appointment for this blood drive, please call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE (1-800-448-3543).

Goldglantz suffered 3rd degree burns over 92% of his body on November 17, 2008 when a gas can in his backyard exploded. He has received numerous blood products since the accident including red blood cells and platelets.

As a burn victim, he will require several more platelet and red blood cell transfusions during the recovery process. To make sure he has enough blood on hand, his wife, Danielle Goldglantz and friends are hosting a blood drive with a goal of collecting 90 units of blood to help replenish the local blood supply.

The blood drive is located at Eastern Regional High School at 1401 Laurel Oak Road in Voorhees, NJ, and Donors of all blood types are welcome.

"We never imagined that blood transfusions would become part of our family's everyday life," said Danielle Goldglantz. "It is because of the generosity of blood donors that Evan and many other victims can fight for their life."
