Black Canyon Surgical Center Goes Paperless with Cyramed ASC EHR System
Date:6/10/2013

Miami, FL (PRWEB) June 10, 2013

Mountain Medical Technologies, Inc., developer of electronic health record software for the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) market, is announcing that the Black Canyon Surgical Center of Montrose, Colorado has gone paperless using Cyramed EHR. Cyramed ASC is a complete EHR solution that mimics real-world processes and workflows for single and multi-specialty ASC facilities.

Cyramed was previously white-labeled to Source Medical as Source Plus EHR (SPEHR) with a tight interface to all of their practice management (PM) products. Cyramed now works with HSTPathways to deliver a high-end business management solution.

Black Canyon, formerly managed by Neuterra Healthcare, used SPEHR for years as a document management system only. They performed all charting on paper and then scanned paper documents into the EHR for storage.

As of February 2013, Black Canyon has approached a truly paperless environment by upgrading to Cyramed ASC for all of its charting needs. They discovered that they already possessed the most effective real time ASC clinical charting solution and were only using a fraction of the software’s capabilities. The transition to full use with minimal cost was championed by Black Canyon’s Director of Nursing, Pat Sales.

“From the very outset, Mountain Medical Technologies worked closely with the Center staff to make the implementation successful,” says Black Canyon’s Administrator, Phil Harper. “Everyone from training, tech support, accounting and the company President have been available to us and focused on our success.”

Black Canyon’s implementation of a paperless ASC EHR system was facilitated by Cyramed’s ease of use. The software features an intuitive graphic user interface that replicates the look, feel and workflow of existing paper forms on easily recognizable screens. This allows healthcare organizations to transition to an electronic charting environment quickly, easily and efficiently, minimizing the negative impacts usually associated with moving from a paper-based system to an EHR.
