Bishops is a Leader in Supporting the Community

PORTLAND, Ore., May 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Bishops Barbershop franchises, cuts and colors for men and women, is actively involved in keeping Portland a great place to live. From donating styling services to raise money for charitable auctions, making cash donations to various groups that support the arts, participating in food drives for women's and children's shelters, partnering with other local organizations to help those hit by the recession, to building a float for this year's Gay Pride parade, Bishops is a leader in supporting the community.

"We care about being part of the community and making it better," said Leo Rivera, founder, president and CEO of Bishops. "We are involved in Charity Day events such as Artists for the Arts that help sponsor art in schools, offering free services for organizations ranging from the Native Fish Society to various schools and school districts, to the Police Activities League, Friendly House, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and the YMCA, as well as making cash donations for sponsorships in the Filmed By Bike and Children of the Revolution Art and Music festivals."

Bishops is a new kind of barbershop for Generations X, Y and Z that delivers high-end salon quality at affordable prices in a casual, fun environment that includes edgy artwork and music, and trend-setting stylists. Clients are taken on a walk-in only basis, and choose from an a la carte menu of services that includes style, shampoo, blow dry, a variety of cut and color options, or even a hot towel shave. A free bottle of cold Miller High Life is offered to those who are 21 and older.

"Now that Bishops is franchising, we look forward to bringing our philosophy of building community through support of local artists, musicians and fashion designers, as well as participating in events that contribute to local charities and non-profit organizations, to cities across the country," Rivera said.
