Bio-Logic Aqua® Research Water Life Science® Investigates Dry Eye
Date:5/12/2017

Because dry eye disease continues to increase worldwide and blindness is out of control, water advocate Sharon Kleyne, founder of Bio-Logic Aqua® Research Water Life Science® and host of the nationally syndicated radio program, The Sharon Kleyne Hour Power of Water, Global Climate Change and Your Health on VoiceAmerica sponsored by Nature’s Tears® EyeMist®, invited a member of her research center to describe dry eye disease, evaporation and the steps people can take to find immediate, long-term and permanent relief during a recent broadcast.

On the program, John D. Ng, MD, MS, FACS, Chief—Ocular Plastics, Orbital and Reconstructive Surgery and a professor at Oregon Health & Science University, shared that “dry eye symptoms due to evaporative loss of the water component of tears are exacerbated by secondary concentration of electrolytes in addition to the mucus ad oil component of the tear film that remain on the ocular surface.” Several causes of this condition include smoke, allergies, staring at computer screens or TVs too long, artificial environments (central air, heat), pollution, lack of sleep and other ailments such as cold and flu. Dr. Ng asserts that “moisturizing and reestablishing proper water balance is essential to restoring ocular surface health.”

Dr. Ng has worked with thousands of patients suffering from dry eye and ocular surface disease and he is certain that he’s found the best solution available in today’s marketplace. “Nature’s Tears® EyeMist®,” says Ng, “has been an invaluable asset in rehabilitation of patients. I have been recommending this treatment for over 17 years and can attest to its benefit, its ease of use and lack of side effects as it is pure water without preservatives.”

“Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® is applied with a personal hand-held humidifying device,” says Kleyne, emitting a pure, pH balanced, 100% Trade Secret tissue culture grade water in a patented micron-size mist. It supplements the eye’s tear film, which is naturally 99 percent water. “With Natures Tears® EyeMist®,” Kleyne says, “tired and irritated eyes are supplemented with pure water and that’s what dry eyes need. Eye drops provide temporary chemical relief,” Kleyne continued, “but they can become addictive and even make the dry eye condition worse.” Why? Because eye drops only trap water on the eye’s tear lens; they do not supplement the tear lens or the moisture (the tears) around it.”

“Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® does supplement both,” adds Dr. Ng, “and I will continue to recommend it to my patients, family, friends and acquaintances. It’s the dry eye solution that really is a solution; it is not a stop-gap measure providing only temporary relief.”
