ATLANTA, July 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Crawford Canada's Bill Johnstone has been named senior vice president of Crawford & Company's (NYSE: CRDA; CRDB) Global Technical Services (GTS) for the Americas, a newly created position designed to more effectively coordinate and grow this market-leading service, the Company announced today.

GTS offers major incident claims handling for catastrophic and complex claims, high-value property and casualty claims and specialist claims in a wide variety of industries worldwide.
Johnstone has served as vice president of GTS in Canada since 2005 and will continue to lead those services directly in Canada in addition to being responsible for establishing policy, marketing and business development for GTS in the remainder of the Americas. Thomas Carstens, vice president of GTS/Property Services/Marine Services for U.S. Property & Casualty, will continue to report directly to Philip Porter, senior vice president of U.S. Property & Casualty, and also report to Johnstone on a matrix basis.
Johnstone began his career in the insurance industry in 1987 and joined Crawford in 1989, becoming an executive general adjuster in 2005. Based primarily in the southern Ontario region, he works out of Toronto handling losses throughout Canada and the United States and around the world. His main areas of adjusting expertise include the film and entertainment industry, commercial transportation and inland marine and environmental claims.
