"The acquisition of Bossa Nova further accelerates our commitment to offer consumers more wholesome beverage choices," said Billy Cyr, Beverages Holdings' president and CEO. "We believe that combining our capabilities with the talented team who created Bossa Nova from scratch will further ignite the growth of this exciting, great tasting brand."

"This opportunity strengthens Bossa Nova's ability to deliver its innovative superfruit beverages to more people by leveraging Beverages Holdings' core competencies of branding, innovation and winning in-store," said Alton Johnson, Bossa Nova CEO. "We will be positioned to take advantage of our new partner's world class supply chain to both vertically produce and distribute our superfruit beverages with the highest possible quality." Bossa Nova will continue to be run by Alton Johnson and his management team from their LA offices.

Bossa Nova's product line includes the original acai juice, as well as acai juice with blueberry, raspberry, mango, or passionfruit; mangosteen juice with passionfruit or dragonfruit; acerola juice with mango or red peach; and goji berry juice with tart cherry.

Bossa Nova's use of the sustainably harvested crop, acai, represents a contribution to helping preserve the endangered Amazon rainforest, while providing a sustainable source of income for thousands of people across the Amazon river basin. This focus on sustainability is in keeping with Beverages Holdings' own sustainability efforts aimed at ensuring a better life for the people our brands touch -- now and for generations to come.

Greif & Co., a Los Angeles-based investment banking firm serving middle-market growth companies nationwide, represented Bossa Nova Beverage Group, Inc. in this transaction.
