NEW YORK, July 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Standing Tall announced today that two-time Tony award-winning actress/singer/comedienne Bernadette Peters has joined its Board of Directors.
"Standing Tall has created a remarkable program, unique in the area, that supports the most severely disabled children in New York City," said Ms. Peters. "The children at Standing Tall gain mobility and independence by actively using their bodies to learn to walk and talk as they also learn reading, math, literature, music, science, and art. I am excited to support this innovative and powerful approach to improving the lives of children with significant disabilities."
"Bernadette Peters is one of Broadway's greatest stars, a performer of amazing versatility with the gift of a beautiful voice," said Carol Turchin Monderer, Chairman of the Board of Standing Tall.
