Bayada Nurses Schedule Tuesday News Conference to Address Need for Increased Medicaid Reimbursement to Enable Home Health Care Organizations to Treat More Individuals

HARRISBURG, Pa., April 4, 2008 /PRNewswire/ -- Bayada Nurses will hold a news conference Tuesday, April 8, at 11 a.m. to inform lawmakers and the public about the importance of raising the Medicaid reimbursement rates to help attract more skilled staff to home health care, and allow more individuals to benefit from the service of care in the home.

More than 190,000 Pennsylvanians use home health care services each week -- equal to the combined population of Lancaster, York, Harrisburg and Altoona. Increasing the Medicaid reimbursement rate would allow home care agencies to provide more individuals with care and save the Commonwealth money by reducing demand for higher cost hospital and nursing home care.
