Date:7/12/2013

Miami, Florida (PRWEB) July 12, 2013

According to the USA Today (7/2), Report: MLB Umpire Let Go After Drug Violation, MLB umpire Brian Runge was recently let go due to a drug violation and has been replaced by an umpire who was promoted from the minor leagues. It is believed to be the first known drug related dismissal among umpires, two people familiar with the situation have told The Associated Press.

Drug abusers from all walks of life can receive private drug treatment provided by Harbor Village, a premier detox center located in Miami, Florida. Harbor Village enables each client to experience 24/7 medically supervised detoxification in an upscale, state-of-the art environment. From day one, each client experiences luxury accommodations including a beautifully furnished suite with satellite television, over an acre of scenic outdoor lounge area, spa, salon, massage and acupuncture services, nutritious, gourmet dining and a personalized program designed for each client's specific substance abuse issue.

As stated in Report: MLB Umpire Let Go After Drug Violation, on June 14, MLB announced that umpire Brian Runge was no longer employed by the league. He was replaced by a Triple-A umpire. MLB did not say why Runge was terminated.

The two people, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Runge failed at least one drug test. At that point, he reached an agreement with the league so he could retain his job as a MLB umpire. When he failed to fully comply with the terms of the agreement, he was discharged.

The AP did not announce what drug violation cause Runge to be dismissed.

“Regardless of what you do for a living, you can become the victim of a drug dependency. Seek the care you deserve at a certified detox center before it's too late,” said Robert Niznik, Harbor Village CEO.
