Barotz Dental Offers Free Online Oral Cancer Risk Assessment
Date:1/27/2009

DENVER, Jan. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- A free online tool in the fight against oral cancer is now being offered by Barotz Dental. The Barotz Oral Cancer Risk Assessment, available at http://www.barotzdental.com, determines a person's risk for oral cancer disease in about three minutes.

"About 34,000 Americans are diagnosed with oral cancer each year. While easy to discover, this type of cancer has an exceptionally high death rate because it is routinely discovered late in its development," said Dr. Charles Barotz. "We feel by offering this free service to the Denver community we can help those at risk and possibly prevent serious problems. Oral cancer is one of the most curable diseases when caught early."

The online test asks a series of simple lifestyle and health information questions. If the questions lead to the determination that a person is at risk for oral cancer, additional information is requested that will allow the test taker to be contacted by Barotz Dental to set up a free consultation to address specific concerns. The process is completely free and the information is confidential.

"As part of our mission to provide the most up-to-date high-quality dental care, Barotz Dental offers a ViziLite(R) Plus exam for oral cancer screening," stated Dr. Barotz. "Clinical studies have determined that using ViziLite after the standard oral cancer examination improves the clinician's ability to identify lesions suspicious for disease. Early detection of pre-cancerous tissue can minimize or eliminate the potentially disfiguring effects of oral cancer." Proven screening technologies such as mammogram, Pap smear, PSA and colonoscopy offer the same types of early detection of cancer.

Dr. Charles S. Barotz is a 1980 graduate of Georgetown University School of Dentistry and has dedicated his life to provide the best tha
