Barotz Dental Now Offering Laser Gum Therapy
Date:12/2/2008

DENVER, Dec. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Barotz Dental is now one of only two dental practices in Denver offering LANAP(TM) (Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure). This is the only laser gum treatment protocol that is patented and FDA approved for new attachment of gum and bone tissue around teeth.

LANAP removes diseased tissue, without removing healthy tissue, maintains the height of the tissue around teeth, minimizes pain and discomfort to the patient, closes the periodontal pocket and allows healing to take place. This is all done without cutting or stitches.

More than 100 million Americans over 35 have some form of gum disease, and only 3% receive treatment. Gum disease, or periodontal disease, includes gingivitis and periodontitis. These are serious infections that affect the gums and bone supporting the teeth and can lead to tooth loss if left untreated. It is, in fact, the leading cause of tooth loss in adults.

Prior to LANAP, Dr. Barotz, like most periodontists, would have to perform bone surgery on his patients with advanced periodontal disease. This meant time away from work, multiple trips, and intense pain following surgery. "With the LANAP treatment, there is no cutting or suturing, which in turn means much less discomfort," stated Dr. Charles Barotz. "The procedure can be done in one to two visits with two follow-up visits. LANAP has done to gum surgery what Lasik has done for eye surgery. The procedure and results are truly amazing.

"LANAP gum therapy is a wonderful addition to the practice as it further extends our mission statement," continued Dr. Barotz. "At Barotz Dental we have a commitment to enhance the lives of the people we touch by providing the most up-to-date, high-quality adult dental care in a comfortable and personalized manner. Using the most modern breakthroughs in dentistry, we have produced miraculous results."
