NEW YORK, May 18 /PRNewswire/ -- BTIG LLC, an institutional broker dealer specializing in trading and related brokerage services, will donate equity and derivative trading commission profits earned on Tuesday, May 19 to a group of nonprofit organizations.

With charitable giving suffering due to the economic downturn, BTIG has committed to continue its philanthropic efforts with its 7th Commissions for Charity Day. Its last Commissions for Charity Day raised more than $2 million, and over the past five years BTIG has donated more than $7 million to various organizations.

Michael J. Fox, Eli Manning, Joe Giraradi, Reggie Jackson and Johnny Damon, among others, are scheduled to attend the Charity Day in support of their charitable foundations.

BTIG has selected several nonprofit organizations that deal with important issues facing children across the country to receive BTIG's equity and derivative commission profits earned on May 19. The nonprofit organizations below have been selected to participate in Commissions for Charity Day:

"We are excited to be partnering with such impactful organizations to help our communities and future generations prosper and are thrilled that so many of their ambassadors will be joining us," said Steven Starker, Co-founder of BTIG. "The importance of charitable giving is heightened during these uncertain economic times, and we remain committed to supporting these organizations and their causes."

"Our charity day complements the many other charitable and volunteer efforts of our firm, our individual employees and their families," added Scott Kovalik, Co-founder of BTIG. "We hope all of these efforts provide some relief and support for the children who need it the most."
