Prairie Living at Chautauqua, a BMA Management affordable assisted living community, is hosting a Summer Sock Hop from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 20.
The community, which is located at 955 Villa Ct. in Carbondale, Illinois, serves older adults of all incomes, including those on Medicaid, who need some help to maintain their independence.
“We invite you to join us as we dance the night away and reminisce about the rock and roll days of yesteryear,” says Andrea Arview Frey, Director of Marketing for Prairie Living. “Our Sock Hop will feature the best music of the 1950s for everyone to enjoy, from the young to the young at heart.”
The Sock Hop is open to the public, and there is no charge to attend.

Prairie Living is the only community in Jackson County that is certified to operate through the Illinois Supportive Living program. The affordable assisted living community is managed by BMA Management, Ltd., the largest provider of assisted living in Illinois.

Prairie Living combines residential apartment-home living with the availability of personal assistance, help with medications, and a variety of convenience and support services.
Residents live in private apartments that they furnish and decorate to their tastes. Each of the apartments features a kitchenette, spacious bathroom with shower and grab bars, individually-controlled heating and air conditioning, and emergency alert system.
