BMA Affordable Assisted Living Community to Host Petals for Oklahoma Art and Bake Sale
Date:6/4/2013

Bradley, Illinois (PRWEB) June 04, 2013

Heritage Woods of Batavia, a BMA affordable assisted living community, is hosting an Art and Bake Sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12, to benefit the tornado relief effort for Moore, Oklahoma.

The community, which is located at 1079 E. Wilson St. in Batavia, Illinois, serves older adults of all incomes, including those on Medicaid, who need some help to maintain their independence.

"The recent tornado that struck Moore was devastating, and Heritage Woods wants to help," says Jennifer Hanke, Director of Marketing for Heritage Woods of Batavia. "All of the proceeds from our Petals for Oklahoma Art and Bake Sale will be donated to the American Red Cross to help the citizens of Moore."

"We will be selling photography taken by our staff nurse Carole Lee of her award-winning garden," says Hanke. "Her photographs will add a springtime feel to your home or office."

"We also invite you to stop by to purchase delicious baked goods prepared by staff and residents of Heritage Woods," she adds.

For more information about the Art and Bake Sale or Heritage Woods of Batavia, call 630-406-9440.

Heritage Woods is certified to operate through the Illinois Supportive Living program, which enables the community to serve adults 65 and older on Medicaid. The community is managed by BMA Management, Ltd., the largest provider of assisted living in Illinois.

"We provide older adults with a wonderful alternative to a nursing home or to struggling alone at home," says Hanke. "Residents benefit from living in a residential apartment-home environment and receiving personal assistance and help with medications."

Private studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments are available. Each of the apartments features a kitchenette, spacious bathroom with shower and grab bars, individually controlled heating and air conditioning, and an emergency alert system.

Certified nursing assistants, working under the direction of a licensed nurse, are on-duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All three meals each day, housekeeping and laundry are among the included services.

"Residents also benefit from all of the opportunities that are available to socialize with friends and neighbors and participate in social activities and special programs," says Hanke.

Based in Bradley, Illinois, BMA Management operates 36 assisted living, senior living and memory care communities that together house nearly 3,400 homes and apartments.

"Our focus," says Rod Burkett, President and CEO of BMA Management, "is to provide residents with the love, compassion and dignity that they deserve and the help and assistance that they need."

Communities managed by BMA include the Heritage Woods affordable assisted living communities in Bolingbrook, Chicago, Gurnee, McHenry, Plainfield and Yorkville, Illinois.

BMA also manages the Heritage Woods assisted living community in Huntley; the Heritage Woods affordable assisted living and memory care community in South Elgin; and the Churchview affordable assisted living community in Chicago.

BMA will be managing the Deer Path affordable assisted living community for physically disabled adults 22 to 64 that is being developed in Huntley and the St. Anthony affordable assisted living community for adults 65 and older that is being developed in Lansing. Both communities are scheduled to open for occupancy later this year.
