Heritage Woods of Aledo, a BMA affordable assisted living community, is hosting an educational seminar on Alzheimer's disease at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 9.
The community, which is located at 405 S.E. 13th Ave. in Aledo, Illinois, serves older adults of all incomes, including those on Medicaid.
"The focus of the educational program will be on the affects of Alzheimer's and the new treatments that are available," says Danise Lenz, Director of Marketing for Heritage Woods of Aledo.
The program is open to the public. There is no charge to attend.

Heritage Woods is the only senior living community in Mercer County that is certified to operate through the Illinois Supportive Living program.
"We provide residents with a wonderful alternative to a nursing home or to struggling alone at home," says Lenz. "Resident benefit from living in a residential apartment-home environment and receiving personal assistance and help with medications."
Private studio and one-bedroom apartments are available. Each of the apartments features a kitchenette, spacious bathroom with shower and grab bars, individually controlled heating and air conditioning, and an emergency alert system.
Certified nursing assistants are on-duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All three meals each day, housekeeping and laundry are among the included services.
