BLU-MED Response Systems Announces New Production Facility in Idaho

KIRKLAND, Wash., Nov. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- BLU-MED Response Systems of Kirkland, Washington recently opened a new production and distribution facility near Boise, Idaho. BLU-MED produces state-of-the-art Deployable Medical Facilities and related equipment for use as mobile field hospitals, emergency medical stations, temporary housing and alternate command centers. These deployable facilities are used by Federal, state and local emergency responders across the nation in the event of disasters or medical emergencies.

Located in Hammett, approximately 60 miles from Boise in Southwest Idaho, the new BLU-MED facility will serve as the company's primary production and assembly plant for the entire range of portable structures, HVAC systems, generators, auxiliary support systems and specialized medical equipment. BLU-MED will assemble modular equipment packages into an array of standardized and customized configurations based on customer requirements.

The Hammett production facility will also serve as a storage depot for about 30% of the BLU-MED Disaster Response Stockpile program, which includes medical and housing shelters, trailers, medical equipment, ward beds, ICU beds, generators, electrical distribution systems, lighting and HVAC systems. As one of four stockpile locations nationwide, the Hammett site will provide strategic deployment of these critical assets following a large-scale disaster or public health emergency. BLU-MED also operates disaster response stockpile depots in North Carolina, Missouri and New Mexico.
