Pittsburgh, Pa. (PRWEB) September 24, 2009 -- As the industry leader in automatic door sensors, BEA, Inc. is delighted their products will be welcoming world leaders to the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, the largest "green" certified convention center in the world with Gold LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification. The BEA Wizard sliding door sensor on the building's automated entrances uses K-Band microwave for activation and focused infrared for safety.

Energy efficiency is important, and a building such as the David L. Lawrence Convention Center demands only the best products that provide true energy efficiency. The BEA Wizard's microwave activation circuit includes unidirectional detection which can discriminate between arriving and departing pedestrian traffic. This intelligent detection can quickly identify a person who has crossed the door's threshold and is walking away from the opening. This intelligence allows the door to close faster behind departing traffic, which reduces energy loss. Arriving traffic is quickly detected and provided clear and dependable access to the building through an open door. If a departing person reverses direction and returns to the building, the high resolution K-band microwave can quickly respond and reactivate the door. Architects and designers seeking true energy efficiency should specifically request automatic door sensors with K-band microwave activation that includes unidirectional detection.
