BCDelectroStore stays on top of the latest industry software requirements and ensures that the products it provides are on par with what is required in the business world. BCDelectroStore technicians make sure to provide customers with a system that is not only affordable but also able to perform the tasks required by a business professional. Needs analysis are often performed for customers and the most common question that arises typically ends up being “how much ram do I need?” There are many different configurations and amounts of memory that can go into systems, some more than others. However, there is such a thing as too little and overkill. “It’s extremely disheartening when I see people walk into a major retail store, get extremely oversold and pay over a thousand dollars for a system that really just isn’t necessary. It’s vital to perform a true needs analysis before purchasing any PC” said certified PC technician, Travis Halsell.
Kicking off with a common amount of memory, 1 Gigabyte or 1GB, of ram was sufficient back in 2006 to get the job done using basic applications such as Microsoft word, running the operating system, and adobe reader. Now in 2013, this amount of memory is deemed obsolete as it simply cannot keep up with modern applications.
2GB of ram is currently a widely accepted configuration, whether it be two 1GB sticks of ram or four 512MB sticks. 2GB of memory allows you more room to wiggle. With a large portion of the memory being occupied by the operating system itself, there is still enough ram to spare to run other applications simultaneously. BCDelectroStore has a minimum standard of 2GB per system which ensures that the average business professional will be able to get the job done.
3-4GB of memory is highly recommended. The maximum amount of memory a 32bit operating system can support is about 3.2 – 3.5gb of ram due to limitations with the memory addressing system. So, that being said, if your system is running a 32bit operating system, there isn’t much of a point to upgrade to 4GB. With 3 to 4GB of memory, you will be guaranteed a smooth usage experience. In 2013, internet browsers have grown into something much more than they used to be. Multiple tabs, hardware accelerations and streaming videos all add up on the usage of system resources, which is why 3 to 4GB of memory would be extremely useful.
After thinking about your needs you may choose to go with the basic 2GB setup or if you are more of a power business user you may decide to go with 3 to 4 gigabytes of ram. Either way, BCDelectroStore can provide you the hardware you need to work at the most efficient level.
