Combines Internet with VoD for In-Room On-Demand Entertainment and

Education

BETHEL, Conn., Dec. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- BAXL Technologies Inc (OTC Bulletin Board: BXLH), the leading technology solutions provider that enables the transmission of voice, data and video over existing wiring, has partnered with Athens-based Epikinonia Ltd. (EPI) to provide hospital bedside services including high speed Internet access (HSIA) and video on demand (VoD) in-room entertainment at the IASO Clinic located in Athens.

Gus Bottazzi, CEO of BAXL Technologies said, "The IASO Clinic was looking for an advanced technology to improve facility management, add soft-sell advertising revenues, and upgrade the patient experience. BAXL products delivered the perfect infrastructure to layer the initial solution as well as the capacity for the clinic's planned future upgrades of on-site security, maternity web cams and voice over IP. The European healthcare market has always looked to be on the cutting edge and BAXL is facilitating their progression."

The IASO Clinic is one of the largest and most advanced maternity clinics in Europe, with over 13,500 inpatient deliveries annually. It operates one of the most sophisticated Neonatal Intensive Care units in the World, as well as one of the largest cardiotocography units in Europe. Each of the IASO Clinic's 100 rooms will be outfitted with BAXL's HSIA as well as a VoD system. Apart from the obvious in-room entertainment uses, the clinic will also use the system to introduce expecting and new mothers to infant care through a series of videos played over the VoD system.

Partnering with EPI enables BAXL to broaden its reach into the Mediterranean region of Europe. EPI, headquartered in Greece, is a broadband systems integrator servicing the hospitality, health care, government and multi-tenant unit (MTU) / multi-density unit (MDU) markets.

Tasos Moutzouris, Managing Director of Epikinonia Ltd said, "Greek health care has always had an eye toward innovation. Clinics are looking to educate their patients, track patients and personnel within the facility, and manage records and prescriptions through the same infrastructure being used for HSIA and entertainment video services. BAXL has the most innovative products to accomplish this in the market today."
