Autovan Donates Wheelchair-Accessible Van; Brings Greater Mobility to Facility in Rochester, New York

BATTLE CREEK, Mich., Sept. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Autovan, LLC, a specialty vehicle manufacturer of wheelchair-accessible vehicles for the personal use and commercial use markets today announced a donation to Easter Seals New York of an accessible lowered-floor minivan to an Easter Seals' Foxworth home in Rochester, New York.

Senator Joseph Robach (R-NY 56th District), a strong community advocate for people with disabilities, joined Easter Seals New York to celebrate the generous donation on Tuesday, Sept. 9, at noon in front of Friendly's at 4 Spencerport Road, Rochester.

"This new van represents how one act of charity can shape many lives," said Sen. Robach, applauding the Autovan donation.

Jim Bishop, President and CEO for Autovan, said donating to organizations like Easter Seals is part of the company's overall corporate mission. "We are incredibly proud to contribute to Easter Seals' work," said Bishop. "So many people with special needs struggle with mobility issues. By providing them with a specialized wheelchair-accessible vehicle, we strengthen their independence and greatly improve their ability to enjoy life and connect with family and friends."

Peter Sear, Chairman of Easter Seals Western Regional Board, said Autovan's gift will enhance the mobility of an already active group of individuals who receive Easter Seals New York's services. "This is a wonderful opportunity, and we are very grateful for this donation," said Sear. "As a result, Easter Seals New York's residents will have much greater access to their community, giving them a new sense of freedom."

Easter Seals New York provides comprehensive services to children and adults with disabilities or other special needs and their families throughout the state, creating solutions that change lives.
