AutismActionPlan.org Launches Doctor-Driven Biomedical Autism Treatment Website
Date:12/9/2008

TEMECULA, Calif., Dec. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Parents of children with an autism-spectrum diagnosis have a new resource in the treatment of their autistic kids -- and it couldn't have come at a better time, says Talk About Curing Autism (TACA) National Manager, Rebecca Estepp. "Almost everyone knows a child with autism. The rate of autism diagnoses is continuing to climb and families are looking for treatment to help their children affected with this disorder."

Help lies in a new membership website, http://www.autismactionplan.org/, created by Dr. Kurt Woeller, a biomedical autism specialist physician with a practice in Southern California. Biomedical intervention treats the underlying medical conditions that can trigger or inflame autism symptoms. Biomedicine has had a higher profile recently, due to being championed by actress/author, Jenny McCarthy, who used it to recover her son from autism.

What separates Dr. Woeller's website from other autism information sites, is the direct access members get with the doctor. "In my practice, I can help 6-8 kids a day. With AutismActionPlan.org, I can help hundreds at a time," says Dr. Woeller. "There's great information at autism-related websites, like TACA & Generation Rescue, but they still refer you to a biomedical doctor. With AutismActionPlan.org, you get the doctor, too."

Access to Dr. Woeller comes in multiple ways. He responds to members' posts on his Parent Forum/Chat Room, but the new technology twist is with his twice-weekly Live Video Chat sessions where members interact in real time with the doctor, who answers their specific questions.

"There's nothing else like it," says Terri Hirning, the mother of an autistic son, Matthew, and AutismActionPlan.org member. "It's very comforting to have access to a doctor, without having to drag my kids to an appointment just for a few
