Autism Software Developer Announces Hiring of Susan DuRant as Director of Education

COLUMBIA, S.C., April 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Accelerations Educational Software (AES), a leading provider of software for individuals with autism and other related disorders, is pleased to announce the addition of Susan DuRant to the newly established position of Director of Education. Ms. DuRant is the parent of a child with autism and brings over 40 years of experience in education.

"Susan will be a great asset to our company and help us to better understand and serve our customers," said Karl Smith, founder of Accelerations Educational Software and a father of a child with autism.

"Her substantial experience as an educator and the passion of a parent will help us make a bigger impact on the special needs community," he added.

With its flagship product, the DT Trainer, now in over 900 school districts, Accelerations Educational Software is building a team of educators to increase the number of students it assists and supports. In addition to helping students with autism, DuRant will also assist the company in expanding its products and services for adults.

With a well-established track record in the field of education, Susan DuRant served as the Director of Special Education for multiple school districts for over 20 years and also served as the Director of Special Education for the state of South Carolina for over 8 years. Her daughter with autism, now 35, has been a driving force behind her commitment to special needs students.
