Date:7/18/2013

SEAL BEACH, Calif. (PRWEB) July 19, 2013

The American Psychological Association describes hypnosis as a cooperative interaction in which the participant responds to the suggestions of the hypnotist. There are many reasons why this procedure is applied as therapy. According to the Mayo Clinic website, hypnotherapy can be an effective method for coping with stress and anxiety. It can also help make necessary changes to a person’s behavior. In The Hypnosis Guide, author Gustave Sorensen sheds light on this intriguing phenomenon and outlines the steps not just for personal application but for using it as a potential business venture.

For thirty-six years, Sorensen was employed at a major aircraft corporation, during that time he also worked part-time with hypnosis. When he retired he decided to practice full-time, opening his first office in Torrance, California, then in Los Angeles and finally in Beverly Hills. In his new book, Sorensen provides what he describes a “cram course in modern hypnosis”. This manual is seen from the point of view of a beginner and, later, from an expert. The time-tested insights and practical knowledge that Sorensen shares will prove useful to readers who want to either apply this procedure or to use it as a new career opportunity.

Comprehensive and practicable, The Hypnosis Guide serves both as an incisive starting ground for first-timers and a source of fresh insights for veterans in the field of hypnosis and hypnotherapy. Sorensen has effectively condensed years of study and practice into a manual that is both easy to grasp and apply.
