Austin Trial Attorney Grows, Donates Hair for Children

Austin, Texas (PRWEB) January 10, 2014

Helping people extends past the courtroom for Austin Trial Attorney, L. Todd Kelly, who recently pledged his locks to a local charity benefitting wigs for children suffering from Alopecia, he said. The Carlson Law Firm personal injury lawyer began growing his hair, with the purpose of donating it, almost two years.

“I was going through some personal struggles during the time that I started growing my hair,” admitted Kelly. “I couldn't help in the more conventional ways that people think lawyers can – but I still wanted to help. This was a way I could do that, even if it was only a small contribution.”

Known for his deep passion for his clients and work on many high profile personal injury, sexual assault and medical malpractice cases, Kelly’s efforts to grow and donate his hair highlights his love for people, a characteristic that aids him in his practice as he helps his clients tell their stories while seeking justice.

“I had a friend who grew his hair for the same purpose and I admired him for doing it. I think that so many of us take little things, like having hair, for granted, and I knew that there were kids who didn’t have that luxury,” Kelly points out.

As a professional who truly cares about the hardships those around him endure, Kelly fits seamlessly into the culture of service at The Carlson Law Firm.

“Something that makes our firm really different, which Todd has captured perfectly as he donates his hair, is our desire to serve people on both a personal and professional level,” Carlson Law Firm Managing Partner Craig Carlson said. “We don’t stop helping people when 5 o’clock rolls around. Instead, we take a significant amount of pride in supporting charities and causes right here in our local communities.”

Serving Texans from ten office locations and employing 28 attorneys, The Carlson Law Firm’s efforts to serve extend far beyond their headquarters in Killeen, Texas, where the firm began more than 35 years ago.

“I think our mission to serve others has helped us remain a fixture in our community while allowing us to grow on both a state and nationwide level,” Carlson said. “When someone is struggling with a situation that has rocked their finances, their family and their health, they recognize when you are truly passionate about helping.”

Kelly’s desire to take his courtroom passion and extend it beyond the walls of his Austin office and into his community is something he shares with his co-workers.

“Whether we’re lacing up our sneakers for local charity runs or volunteering to help work on homes for Habitat for Humanity, the attitudes and efforts of our attorneys and employees makes me so proud to work with people who truly care about others,” Carlson recognizes.
