Austin's Top Cosmetic Surgeon Earns Prestigious Recertification
Date:8/6/2014

Austin, TX (PRWEB) August 06, 2014

The Austin area is pleased to know that one of their own, Dr. Edward Buckingham, has recently completed his Board Recertification. The rigorous process, developed by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ABFPRS), is designed to assess if a surgeon continues to posses the required skills. Dr. Buckingham, the founder of Buckingham Center for Facial Plastic Surgery, not only passed this grueling process, his test scores were in the top 3% possible.

The ABFPRS Maintenance of Certification (MOC) consists of three essential parts. First, surgeons must register with the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Secondly, all required credentials and training must be submitted, and then carefully reviewed by the Board. Lastly, and most importantly, this involves an intense written and oral examination.

Surgeons are required to earn a minimum score of 250 to pass their MOC, while the maximum is 375. Dr. Buckingham finished his exam with a total of 352 points, ranking among the highest in the country. He fell within the top 97% for his 164 points on the oral exam; and placed in the top 100% with his 188 score on the written evaluation.

Dr. Buckingham has been practicing facial cosmetic and reconstructive surgery in Austin for over 10 years. He is Double Board Certified, by both the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology. Dr. Buckingham is an alumnus of the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.
