Attention New York: Please Don't Get Sick on March 4th, Your Doctor Will be in Albany for Malpractice Insurance Reform
Date:3/3/2008

NEW YORK, March 3 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- With New York physicians facing a potential surcharge in malpractice insurance premiums of $50,000, in addition to a projected premium increase, an expected one thousand New York physicians will be in Albany's Hart Theater in the Egg, Empire State Plaza, on Tuesday, March 4th where they will be addressed by the Governor at 9:45 a.m. and then march on the Capitol steps by 12:30 p.m. to demand justice and malpractice reform.

With empty chairs symbolizing many of the physicians who have already left New York to practice elsewhere, or sought early retirement, many of the doctors will leave their white coats on the steps of the capitol to underscore the coming crisis when many patients discover their doctors have been forced to close, retire or relocate out of state.
