Atlas Spine Releases Back-PAK(TM) Discectomy Set
Date:4/3/2008

JUPITER, Fla., April 3, 2008 /PRNewswire/ -- Atlas Spine, Inc. a spinal technology development company announced today the launch of the Back-PAK Discectomy Set. The Back-PAK DS offers an advanced instrument system designed to make discectomy procedures and implant site preparation more efficient for surgeons.

Feedback from surgeons has been extremely positive. Says product designer Matt Baynham, "An evolution of this kind in standard surgical instruments is rare. The Back-PAK DS was developed as a result of years of experience, observation and the necessity to improve the technology of common instruments, consistent with advances in surgical techniques."

The Back-PAK instruments are specifically designed to maximize proficiency and provide the optimum weight, balance, feel and control for the surgeon. This design further allows reduced invasiveness through accommodation of compromised disc space and preservation of bone.

The Back-PAK DS supports the philosophy of Atlas Spine that an efficient and successful surgery is significantly impacted by less invasive instrumentation and techniques as well as the implants themselves.

Atlas Spine, headquartered in Jupiter, Florida, is a privately held company whose core strength is the development and marketing of next generation spinal instruments and implants. Other products offered by Atlas Spine are: The Verteview(TM) Cervical Plating System, Stature(TM) VBR and Rebar(TM) VBR. Atlas has also received 510(k) clearances for the Apelo(TM) Pedicle Screw System, and Rebar XL(TM) VBR.
