Atlantic Plastic Surgery Center Selects Artefill to Meet Growing Patient Demand for a Longer Lasting Dermal Filler
Date:7/31/2009

PORTSMOUTH, N.H., July 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Lawrence N. Gray, M.D., a board-certified plastic surgeon, and Mark Ballentyne, M.D. at Atlantic Plastic Surgery Center have selected Artefill, the first and only FDA-approved microsphere-enhanced collagen filler for the correction of smile lines, to treat patients who are looking for a longer lasting dermal filler. Both physicians have been avid Artefill users the past several years due to its proven success and effectiveness for the correction of wrinkles.

Dr. Lawrence Gray said, "We've had a very pleasant experience with Artefill's ease of injection and our patients are very happy with the long lasting results. Many have recommended Artefill to their friends, which is the ultimate compliment to the product. Also, happily, we have not seen any complications."

This simple, in-office procedure takes approximately fifteen minutes to complete. A patient is injected with Artefill similar to other dermal fillers with the key difference being its lasting effect. The unique microspheres in Artefill are not absorbed by the body and therefore provide the support the skin needs for long lasting natural feeling results. This is different from temporary dermal fillers that are made of different kinds of natural or synthetic materials that are completely absorbed by the body over time and require repeat injections to maintain wrinkle correction. A skin test is required prior to treatment or approximately four (4) weeks ahead of time, to ensure a patient is not allergic to the collagen or anesthetic in Artefill.

Commenting further on the product Dr. Mark Ballentyne said, "Artefill is trouble-free to administer and because the results improve over time, instead of diminishing, our patients seem to really love it. Patients are aware that they must have a skin test and then wait a month, but they are willing to do
