Kansas City-based company connects, educates and entertains sports world

KANSAS CITY, Mo., Feb. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Sports enthusiasts have a new online hotspot with Kansas City roots. A team of college and amateur athletes have collaborated to produce AthletixNation.com, the premier community for all athletes, fans, coaches and professionals.

"The ultimate goal of AthletixNation.com is to have a positive impact on the entire athletic community," said AthletixNation.com CEO and President Davyeon Ross. "In the Nation, users can create a personalized sports portal with technological resources to connect, educate and entertain."

AthletixNation.com offers free online services to people of all ages, featuring all sports from basketball to cheerleading to swimming. Users can create their own athletic community with options to build sports profiles, upload videos and photos, form teams, blog about sports interests, send private or group messages and create event invitations.

Site members have the opportunity to communicate directly with professional athletes, join fan clubs or gain expert education through articles and interviews. Notable professional athletes involved in AthletixNation.com include Kansas City Wizards Captain Jimmy Conrad, former University of Kansas and NBA basketball guard Billy Thomas and cheerleaders from the Kansas City Chiefs and Brigade.

Local sports journalists offer support through the Get Published program. Users can submit original sports articles, videos or photos for the chance to meet nationally acclaimed Kansas City Star journalist Jason Whitlock.

AthletixNation.com takes sportsmanship offline through upbeat community programs. This winter, the company has created a spark in high schools by providing game entertainment and online game coverage for Metro Sports HyVee Games of the Week. Coming soon, AthletixNation.com will kick off the Athletix Makeover (AMO) for high school basketball teams. Spons
