At HIMSS '08, RF Technologies(R) Will Host LIVE! Demonstrations of PinPoint(R) Peer-to-Peer Wi-Fi RTLS - a Breakthrough in Location-Aware Solutions

Tag is detected in an unauthorized area, the system can be programmed to trigger an alert, lock down doors, and deactivate elevators, if needed. And the PinPoint Tamper Detection feature is patented technology exclusive to RF Technologies. Tamper Detection activates an alert when a tag has been removed from an asset.

According to Ajay Malik, Chief Technology Officer, "To support the needs of RTLS, there are many technologies such as Wi-Fi, Active RFID, Passive RFID, Ultrasound, UWB, Infrared, GPS, ZigBee, Rubee etc., and technically speaking, none of the technologies is perfect for all the applications. The PinPoint RTLS Platform software is designed to be modular to support various types of tag technologies. Plug-ins for any other type of tag technology can be easily added. This enables customers to continue to use the RTLS tag technology they have already deployed or to add newer technologies that will be available in the future."

The PinPoint RTLS Platform provides APIs and northbound interfaces that enable ERP applications to easily integrate RTLS information, facilitating process enhancements. The PinPoint RTLS Platform also provides highly flexible reporting functions as well as web-based portals at computers or on PDAs.
